Southern Illinois Trophy Bowhunting is a Premier Outfitter offering some of the finest whitetail deer hunting in Southern Illinois. SITB’s lodge is located just outside of McCleansboro Illinois in Hamilton County, IL. We own/lease over 4000 acres in Hamilton, Williamson, Jefferson and Franklin Counties, which are all well known for producing Giant Illinois Bucks!

We provides lodging in a comfortable and cozy 1800’s era house that is surrounded by some of SITB’s most productive hunting grounds.  It is not uncommon for hunters who have filled their tags to see 140” deer from the front porch while they sip on their morning coffee.

SITB maintains a quality deer herd by strict herd management, outstanding genetics, food, habitat, and a good age structure.  These five ingredients have been the vital part of SITB’s ability to produce monster whitetail bucks year after year. SITB’s owner and guides study the deer year around by long distance observation, game cameras, and yearly deer patterns.

As you travel to the Lodge you will see rolling hills, hardwoods, and crop fields.  Illinois has some of the richest soil in the Midwest, which helps to grow massive whitetail deer.

Upon arrival you will be greeted by the SITB’s friendly staff, who will help you unload your hunting gear and get you settled into your room.  After a quick stretch, the staff will update you on current deer activity and also give you detailed information about the area you will be hunting.

SITB takes all precautions to keep areas from being “over hunted” and believes a major key to success is providing low pressure hunting areas for all hunters.  We use comfortable ladder stands for your convenience and comfort.  Special stand accommodations can be made upon request.  As you get suited up and ready for the hunt, the staff will take you to your hunting location.  After drop off you will have a short to moderate walk to your stand with bright eyes leading the way.

Once settled into your stand, you can expect to start seeing deer movement soon after day break.  It is not uncommon to see as many as 12-15 deer during a hunt a morning or evening hunt.  Most hunters use the saying “you can’t kill em’ if you aren’t out there” and choose to sit all day, but if you do wish to come out, the SITB staff is just a text or call away and will pick you up at your request or a pre-established time.  Breakfast and Lunch at the lodge will be “on your own” and the evening meal will be anything from a fine steak to Italian.

After you harvest the whitetail buck of your dreams, the SITB staff asks that you remain in your stand and notify one of the staff that you have taken a deer.  The staff will come to your hunting location and provide the “muscle” to get the deer out.

After a quick photo shoot with you and your trophy, you can choose to take your harvest to the processing center.  The processing center is less that 20 minutes away and offers numerous options, everything from standard hamburger to jerky sticks filled with cheese and Jalapeños. As you head back to the lodge, you can choose to relax at the lodge for the remaining of the hunt or head back to the woods to harvest a doe (Antlerless Tag Required). After the sad day arrives and you must return home, the SITB staff will be there to help you get packed up and make sure you have everything you need for a safe trip home.
